Yorktown Police report the arrest of sixty year old Thomas B. Scully of Carmel, New York, who is charged with Driving While Intoxicated with 2 prior convictions in less than 10 years, a Class “D” Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, a Class “E” Felony, and numerous traffic violations.

On September 3, 2017 at approximately 9:26 am Sgt. Dillon and P.O. Racioppo responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Lee Boulevard. Upon arrival Sgt. Dillon and P.O. Racioppo located a single vehicle crash into the woods of the dead end of Lee Boulevard. Investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle was Thomas B. Scully. It is alleged that Thomas B. Scully was driving while intoxicated with 2 prior convictions in less than 10 years, making it a class “D” felony. It is also alleged that Thomas B. Scully was driving with no drivers license, while his privilege to do so was revoked on December 30, 2008 for failing to submit to a chemical test, June 5, 2009 for driving while intoxicated, and June 29, 2009 for driving while intoxicated. It is further alleged that Thomas B. Scully was operating a vehicle at speed not reasonable or prudent, failing to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, failing to maintain lane, and refusing to submit to a preliminary breath test. It is further alleged that Thomas B. Scully had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle as well as numerous equipment violations. Thomas B. Scully was arrested at the scene on the above allegations and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing.

The defendant was processed at police headquarters on the above charges, arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court on September 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond and Thomas B. Scully was remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of bail or bond. He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 12, 2017 at 6:00 PM.
