Yorktown Police report the arrest of twenty-five year old Stephen J. Caruso of 196 Campbell Rd, Yorktown Heights, New York, who is charged with Suspended Registration, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Speed in Zone and Operating Without Insurance, both Traffic Infractions.

On August 7, 2017 at about 11:15 am, Officer Kahn was on routine patrol on Lexington Avenue operating a marked patrol vehicle equipped with an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR). The ALPR alerted Officer Kahn that a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction allegedly had a suspended registration. A traffic stop was conducted and the vehicle’s operator was identified as Stephen J. Caruso. It is alleged that Caruso was operating the vehicle while the registration was suspended for an insurance lapse. It is also alleged that Caruso was speeding and operating without insurance.

Caruso was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters and released on $100 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on September 7, 2017 at 6:00 pm.
