Yorktown Police report the arrest of an 18 year old Yorktown, NY resident, whose name is being withheld due to eligibility for Youthful Offender Status, who is charged with Attempted Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a Class B Misdemeanor.

On June 6, 2017 at approximately 11:45 PM the Yorktown Police Department received a call of a domestic incident. Upon arrival an investigation was conducted and it was alleged that the defendant placed his arms and hands around the throat of another attempting to impede the victim’s normal breathing. The defendant was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for arrest processing.

The defendant was processed on the above charge and arraigned by the Honorable Judge Raniolo who issued a Temporary Order of Protection on behalf of the victim. The defendant was ROR’d and is due back in the Yorktown Court on June 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM.
