Yorktown Police report the arrest of a 31 year old Yorktown, NY resident, who is charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd degree, an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Suspended Registration, an Unclassified Misdemeanor and for Impeding Traffic, a traffic infraction.
Police report that on April 15, 2017 at approximately 3:51 AM, Officer Tillistrand was on routine patrol on Gomer Street when it’s alleged that he observed a vehicle impeding traffic while driving 15 MPH in a 30 MPH Zone. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as James W. Procino. During an investigation on scene a routine driver’s license and registration check was conducted. It’s alleged that the operator of the vehicle, James W. Procino was driving while his driver’s license was suspended for failing to answer a summons and his registration was suspended for 5 Parking Violations within 12 months. Further investigation at the scene revealed that Procino was allegedly in possession of non-prescribed 30 mg prescription pills for Amphetamine and dextroamphetamine along with Suboxone, both controlled substances. Procino was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
Following processing on the charges Procino was issued an appearance ticket and uniform traffic tickets. He was released on $100 bail and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on May 16, 2017 at 6:00 PM.
