Yorktown Police report the arrest of 48 year old Yorktown, NY resident, Joseph C. Curtis who is charged with Menacing 2nd Degree and Resisting arrest, both class A Misdemeanors.

On April 11, 2017 at approximately 06:30 PM, Yorktown Police received a 911 call reporting a past stabbing at a Yorktown residence and P.O. Caprio, P.O. Hannigan, Det. Shanahan and Sgt. Rapisarda were dispatched to investigate. An investigation at the scene revealed that Joseph C. Curtis allegedly menaced the victim with a spear like weapon placing the victim in fear of injury. It is further alleged that Curtis resisted arrest.  After arrest Joseph C. Curtis was transported to Police Headquarters for processing.

After being processed on the above charges Joseph C. Curtis was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Raniolo, who issued a Temporary Order of Protection in favor of the victim, and was released on his own recognizance.  Joseph C. Curtis is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on April 13, 2017 at 6:00 pm.
