Yorktown Police report the arrest of 47-year-old Matthew Hanney on 3 charges of Sexual abuse in the first degree.

On March 25th, 2017 Yorktown Police PO Racioppo received a report of the possible sexual abuse of a 10-year-old occurring earlier in the week.  Detective Shanahan was assigned to continue the investigation.  On 3/30/17 Matthew Hanney was interviewed at Police Headquarters; following the interview he was placed under arrest. Police allege that on 3 separate dates in March 2017, while at 1804 Lawrence Road, Matthew Hanney allegedly subjected a 10-year-old to sexual contact.

Matthew Hanney was processed at Yorktown Police Headquarters then brought to the Yorktown Justice Court where he was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Raniolo, who issued several temporary order of protections and ordered Hanney held on $500,000.00 bail. Hanney was turned over to Westchester County Department of Corrections and is to reappear in Yorktown Court on 4/6/17.
