Yorktown Police report the arrest of 79 year old Kong Kyu Kim of Yorktown NY who is charged with Assault In The Third Degree, and Criminal Obstruction Of Breathing Or Circulation, both Class A Misdemeanors.
According to police on June 24th 2014 at approximately 4:13pm a call was received from the emergency room staff at the Westchester County Medical Center reporting that a female resident of Beaver Ridge Apartments in Yorktown was currently being treated for injuries resulting from a domestic incident. Officer Timothy Kolkmann and Det. Brian Shanahan were assigned to the case and conducted an investigation which revealed that on June 19th 2014 at 10:00pm, while at the Beaver Ridge Apartments at 1965 Allan Ave., a male identified as Kong Kyu Kim allegedly punched and choked the female resident causing bruising and swelling to her face.
On June 25th 2014 at 4:25pm Officer Kolkmann arrested Kong Kyu Kim outside of his residence in reference to said incident. Following processing on the aforementioned charges, Kim was arraigned by Judge Raniolo who served Kim with a Temporary Order Of Protection and them released him on his own recognizance. Kim is scheduled to answer said charge in Yorktown Court on June 26th 2014 at 6:00pm.
